The PIANOLOGIST – Jonas Dept

Where Classical Roots Meet Modern Exploration

THE PiANOLOGIST is a Belgian artist based in Brussels – Bangkok – Los Angeles.
His artistic explorations come as the irresistible sequel to a career as a classical pianist, compelling his piano to share the stage with off-centre soundscapes, non-musical media or even take the back-seat entirely. Breaking away from the traditional concert, The PiANOLOGIST takes you into his compositions & piano repertoire through an approach encompassing various interests – spirituality, philosophy, science, technology, relationships.

One of his most memorable moments was performing at the Botanical Garden of Brussels, surrounded by greenhouses and towering trees, during a youth music festival attended by 2,000 people. “That performance brought mixed emotions—nervousness, excitement, fear—but when I started playing, the breeze, the stillness of the crowd, and the music flowing out created a timeless moment. That sense of completeness marked the true start of my musical journey”.

If you’re happy playing the piano, your audience will feel that joy too. Even if just one person is moved by your music, you’ve succeeded in sharing the gift of music. For me, the happiest moments are on stage, knowing the audience leaves with new dreams and relaxation. That’s my greatest joy.

Ron Teeguarden

A Life in Music, Spirit and the Dao

I am Ron Teeguarden, a Daoist herbalist, a seeker of wisdom, a lifelong student of the great mysteries—and through it all, a musician. Music has been my quiet companion, my invisible thread weaving through decades of exploration, healing, and discovery. Though my name is known in the world of tonic herbalism, my music has always been an expression of my inner life—of Shen, rooted in Jing, carried by the free flow of Qi.

I began playing guitar in Ann Arbor during the heady psychedelic days, where philosophy and art converged, and the great questions of life swirled in the air like incense. While others found their paths in performance, my passion was the unseen—exploring the depths of mind, energy, and health through the great Asian traditions. But my music was never separate from this path. From the beginning, my playing was raga-influenced, touched by the acoustic mysticism of John Fahey, Robbie Basho, and Neil Young. A decade later, I befriended Fahey himself, completing a circle that had begun when I first plucked a note in search of meaning.

Through the decades, my journey carried me into the deepest realms of Daoist herbalism. My work became legendary, yet in the background, my guitar remained an extension of my spirit. Along the way, I found myself befriending legendary musicians and industry icons, as though the harmony of my herbal path resonated through the music world as well.

In 2006, I came full circle with music when Harvey Mandel — one of the greatest electric guitarists to walk the earth — chose to record one of my songs. It was a moment of deep recognition. Harvey, the master, and I, the seeker, came together on a creative journey of hundreds of midnight recording sessions, mostly over the web (Harvey in San Francisco, me in the hills of Los Angeles) that would last two years and result in forty fully realized songs.

Someone once called my music “mathematical voodoo,” sensing its mysterious patterns and unconventional jazz chords—absorbed through the walls of my Ann Arbor apartment 35 years ago. That phrase stuck with me, reflecting a deeper truth. My great-cousin, jazz legend Jack Teagarden, lived in New Orleans, where music and voodoo intertwine. More than just family, he was part of the same rhythmic current that flows through me. Though I don’t claim his greatness, his influence lingers—his rhythm still plays through my strings.

Lucid Music & NeuroVIZR : The Light of Brain and Spiritual Transformation

What an extraordinary and heartwarming collaboration! After nearly five decades of friendship, Garnet Dupuis and Ron Teeguarden are bringing their shared passion for the sublime into a deeply personal and transformative artistic creation. With Ron playing guitar and performing his original songs, this Lucid Music collaboration is elevated by the light of the NeuroVIZR—a technology dedicated to brain health and spiritual evolution, a portal to deeper consciousness, and a tool for tuning the mind like a celestial instrument. For me, one of the greatest honors of my life has been the invitation from Garnet, the visionary creator of the NeuroVIZR and founder of Lucid Records, to share these pieces of music in their purest form, enhanced by this remarkable medium. The “VIZR” is the perfect vessel for my compositions—music not merely for listening, but for awakening, healing, illuminating, recharging, and, above all, experiencing. Music and tonic herbs reflect a lifelong search for truth. Lucid Music and NeuroVIZR share this message as a gift, not a product.

  • Conductor of world-class orchestras, known for blending classical with contemporary music styles.
  • A true pioneer, reimagining how music connects with audiences globally.

Reimagining the Emotional Power of Music

Kristjan Järvi has always believed in the transformative power of music. By collaborating with Garnet Dupuis and Lucid Music, he is taking that belief one step further, creating an experience where sound and light transcend traditional boundaries. Music is a journey of the soul, and when paired with light, it becomes a multidimensional experience that touches something even deeper.

From Notes to Light.

Garnet Dupuis choreographs light patterns to Kristjan Järvi’s orchestral masterpieces, creating an immersive experience that resonates in both the heart and mind.

Music That Moves Beyond Sound.

Kristjan’s passion for innovation led him to Lucid Music. He sees this as the next evolution of how music is experienced—a way to make the listener part of the story. This is not just music you hear; it’s music you feel, see, and become a part of. It’s immersive, it’s powerful, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever done before.

Pulse Mandala

Deep Mind Contemplation

Electronic ambient artist Pulse Mandala returns to the source, to the fabric of space and time itself connecting to the fundamental essence of life: Vibration.
The compositions take inspiration from organic patterns that are abundant in nature, from the fascinating microscopic world up to the vast and stellar universe. There’s something out there that somehow feels right and makes us feel connected to the world we live in. When this divine magic is applied to electronic music, there’s an instant connection to a deeper level of consciousness.

Bridging Artistry and Technology

Being an established and well respected music tech and touring veteran, Wim Daans has a reputation for blurring the lines between artistry, production and technology. He worked as a sound designer, studio producer, backline technician, playback engineer, video editor and more recently as stage/production manager and always succeeds to inspire and motivate his team to bring out the best from everybody involved.

I see myself as a technical-artistic explorer, a seeker, and a human being in progress. I take pride in executing my job with great responsibility, initiative and enthusiasm, and the never-ending challenge that fast evolving technology offers me, allows me to push boundaries, think outside of the box and come up with innovative solutions. Basically I like to work with creative, friendly, down-to-earth people on exciting new projects to make interesting things happen.

Electronic artist Wim Daans is the driving force behind Pulse Mandala. He started out in the dark eighties with Belgian new wave band The Arch as keyboard player and composer. In the nineties he joined the ranks of bands like Lords of Acid, Poesie Noire, Darling Nikkie, Luc van Acker and Praga Khan, touring the world playing synths in the underground scene. In between tours he also worked on his own solo project Karma de la Luna that became an established name in the Ambient scene and released the cult classic Travel Without Moving.

Wim’s passionate love and extensive use of music technology has always been his driving motor. He likes to take care of all things MIDI, MADI, virtual instruments, digital audio, timecode, clicktracks and other electronic wizardry happening on modern live productions. He’s basically acting as a missing link between audio, light, video and the artists, making for a smooth production experience.

His vast experience in the music industry really shows when running productions where he manages to inspire and motivate his team to bring out the best from everybody involved.
As a sound designer and electronic artist, Wim is obsessed with synthesizers, both hardware and software. He owns an extensive Eurorack modular system, which he uses for classic analogue tracking and creating advanced, experimental, evolving soundscapes.
